About this collection
“How many people am I?”, asked Fernando Pessoa in The Book of Disquiet. “I know not what instruments, what fiddlestrings and harps, drums and tambours I sound and clash inside myself. All I hear is the symphony,” wrote the celebrated Portuguese poet, who created more than 70 complex personae, dividing all his humanness among various authors. This orchestra of “selfs” is what drives Projeto Ruído’s drop – whose name literally means “Noise Project”. They work with a seemingly disorganised, somewhat discomforting visual universe, which at the same time is intentionally structured to generate reflection. They call this series Heteronymia, which is the study of heteronyms, that is, of fictitious authors who possess personality. This NFT series is a jigsaw puzzle of “selfs” created out of 36 cubes that can generate hundreds of different compositions, or faces, of the same man. The result is a visual, and unique, symphony.

This artwork is an Open Edition NFT, in which dozens of different compositions created out of the 36 cubes can be seen in the blink of an eye. This multifaceted arrangement is only possible because of the complementary work of Projeto Ruído duo: while Draw creates figurative and monochromatic figures, Contra uses colours, abstraction, and texture.

Each one of the 36 cubes which compose the jigsaw puzzle is actually a unique, physical piece. Buyers who acquire this NFT will get a digital artwork and the physical cube itself. The sculpture has six different faces and six different drawings created out of the duo's different styles. There is also another surprise factor: collectors will only know the cube that they have acquired a week after the purchase.

About the artist
Ruído is a creative project joining Portuguese artists Draw (Frederico Soares Campos, 1988) and Contra (Rodrigo Guinea Gonçalves, 1984), who both have backgrounds deeply marked by graffiti and urban art. It emerges after a ten-year artistic collaboration, embodied by a symbiotic dialogue between the individual language of each element, producing large- and small-scale pieces in a unique and immediately recognizable style.
